Hi, I’m Anne-Marie,

The owner and founder of Gilded Lilyz. 

I’ve been in the beauty industry for most of my working life and still really love everything about it; from the women I meet and their stories, to providing a warm, positive space for women to come and spend time on themselves.

I initially trained and practised as a Beauty Therapist but as I got older my interest in makeup grew.  I wanted solutions to the changes I was seeing in my own complexion and facial features.  I got to the stage where I felt needed more than just a little mascara to feel good.

But it was hard to get good advice, I wanted to learn more about makeup but couldn’t find anyone offering lessons and the help I got at makeup counters in department stores was very hit and miss.  So, aged 36 and as a mother of two young boys, I signed up for my first professional makeup course as a way to find answers to my own makeup queries.

And I was hooked! I became fascinated and decided to re-enter the industry as a makeup artist.  Once I began working as a makeup artist, the link between good skin, and makeup application became really apparent. They go hand in hand as you need to create a smooth, hydrated canvas for perfect makeup. 

I did my full makeup diploma at age 44, and the topic of mature makeup became my focus and my passion.  Around the same time I discovered the Issada range of mineral makeup which had added skin enhancing ingredients and embraced the idea of makeup as an extension of skincare.  

I also know, from firsthand experience, how intimidating it can be trying to navigate the world of cosmetics and make yourself vulnerable in front of impossibly glamorous makeup counter assistants.  I also understand the frustration and disappointment of getting a makeover that you hate or products that just don’t perform.  

So now at the age of 48, I’ve combined my skin care and makeup training to create Gilded Lilyz

It’s a warm, nurturing place where mature women (and their daughters) can expect expert advice, learn simple, yet effective, techniques and test and purchase high quality, mineral, cosmeceutical-grade makeup and skincare products that guarantee lasting, impactful results. 

I want to help women look and feel good every day, not just on special occasions.
